MS Dhoni is often hailed for his calm demeanour on the field when the going gets tough. In a candid conversation about the ex-India captain who also led Chennai to three Indian T20 League titles, his wife Sakshi said she has seen his emotions run high when it comes to the game.

“Mahi is always emotional about cricket. It’s his love,” said Sakshi during an Instagram Live chat on the official CSK page, as she recollected her memories of her husband after he had just led Chennai to their third Indian T20 League title in 2018.

MS Dhoni’s open-door policy

Sakshi Dhoni also offered some insight into one of the many reasons that undoubtedly contributed to her husband being such a successful leader in the sport – his patience for lengthy discussions about how to excel at the next game, even if it means burning the midnight oil.

"Mahi has always kept his door open. It has been like that since 2010 (when we got married). People come...we chat sometimes till 3-4 in the morning. When they come to talk to Mahi about cricket, I go away."

MS Dhoni’s PUBG ID in demand

Yet another revelation courtesy of Sakshi was MS Dhoni’s love for video games.

"Video games are a stress buster for him. He has a thinking brain which doesn't rest. So video games help him and he is now too much into Call Of Duty and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG)."

Ever since then, searches for MS Dhoni’s PUBG ID have gone up 950 percent, as per Google Trends!

A break from cricket for Dhoni's family

With the sporting world firmly under lockdown due to the global pandemic and no concrete word on the resumption of cricket activities on the horizon, the couple have decided to spend some alone time in scenic Uttarakhand.

"If there is cricket, there will be cricket. But Mahi and I have planned to hit the hills. We are planning to go to Uttarakhand..stay in small villages. we will do road trips…no flights."
