The record for most 50-plus scores for India in cricket is held by Sachin Tendulkar, with 264 fifty-plus scores in 664 international cricket matches across all formats. In fact, the Master Blaster’s tally is the world record in the sport.

Tendulkar, whose international career spanned between 1989 and 2013, hit his first international half-century in a 1989 Test against Pakistan at Faisalabad, and his maiden hundred (148 not out) came against Australia in the 1992 Sydney Test.

Sachin’s first ODI half-ton (53) was against Sri Lanka at home in 1990 while his maiden 50-overs century (110) against Australia transpired during a 1994 Quadrangular series.

Since then, the legendary batter would go on to hit 119 fifty-plus scores (51 hundreds, 49 fifties) in Test cricket and 145 (49 hundreds, 96 fifties) in ODIs. The Master Blaster played just a solitary T20I in his career and scored 10 runs.

Virat Kohli overtook Rahul Dravid to go second on the list with 203 fifty-plus scores in international cricket for India.

Kohli, who has played a total of ​​490 international matches across all formats, has registered 55 fifty-plus scores in Tests (27 hundreds, 28 fifties), 110 (46 hundreds, 64 fifties) in ODIs and 38 (one century, 37 fifties) in T20I cricket.

Rahul Dravid is the next batter with the most 50-plus scores for India in international cricket. Nicknamed ‘The Wall’, Dravid - currently the head coach of the Indian cricket team - amassed 194 fifty-plus scores in 509 international matches.

Dravid hit 99 fifty-plus scores in Tests (36 hundreds and 63 fifties) and 95 in limited-overs cricket (12 centuries, 83 half-tons).

Sourav Ganguly (145 fifty-plus scores in 424 international matches) and Rohit Sharma (127 fifty-plus scores in 413 international matches) complete the top-five list.

Rohit, the current captain of the Indian cricket team, has tallied 22 fifty-plus scores in Tests (eight hundreds, 14 fifties), 78 (30 hundreds, 48 fifties) in ODIs and 33 (four centuries, 29 fifties) in T20I cricket.
