The Kenya D10 2022 will start on August 13 and run till August 23 in Nairobi, Kenya.
Organised by Cricket Kenya, a total of six teams will participate in the inaugural edition of Kenya D10, playing a total of 33 matches over 11 days.
Nairobi Lions, Coast Dolphins, Kakamega Buffalos, Embu Rhinos, Homa Bay Eagles and Nakuru Flamingo are the six teams that will compete for the title.
As per the schedule, each team plays the other side in the T10 tournament twice in a round-robin format. The top four teams in the league phase will qualify for the semi-final. The Kenya D10 2022 final is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, August 23.
All matches of Kenya D10 2022 will be played at Nairobi Gymkhana Club Ground.
Under the leadership of chairman Manoj Patel, Cricket Kenya aims to revive the sport in the country and bring back the glory days. By 2027, Cricket Kenya hopes to return to the One-Day International set-up and also qualify for the upcoming edition of the ICC T20 World Cup.
"We are gearing towards a Vision 2027, where we would look forward to returning to ODI fold, qualify for ICC T20 World Cup, and work on the cricket infrastructure and popularity in Kenya,” Manoj Patel was quoted as saying by The Economic Times.
“We look forward to introducing Broadcasted Domestic Events, a World Standard T10/T20 league, and a player-centric plan for player development. Starting from the ground level, we are set to have Kenya D10 starting from August 13th, 2022,” he added.
