Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan and current Indian women’s T20I team captain Harmanpreet Kaur have both tested positive for the global. In a shocking turn of events, Irfan Pathan is, in fact, the fourth player from the Road Safety World Series 2021 to have contracted the virus after Sachin Tendulkar, S Badrinath and Yusuf Pathan.
Taking to Twitter, Pathan said that he is showing no symptoms whatsoever and is self-isolating at home. But the worrying factor here was his presence in the commentary box during India vs England ODI series. He also worked as an expert during the pre-match and post-match analysis.
"I have tested positive for the virus with no symptoms and have isolated myself and quarantined at home. I would request those who came in contact with me in recent past to please get themselves tested," Irfan wrote. "Urging all to wear masks and maintain social distancing. Wishing you all good health."

Pathan was part of the India Legends team that participated in the Road Safety World Series 2021 - a tournament that also featured teams from England, West Indies, Bangladesh, South Africa and Sri Lanka.
As for Harmanpreet Kaur, it is said that she is experiencing mild symptoms. She got herself tested on Monday after suffering from a fever. “She is self-isolating at home. She got tested yesterday and the report came positive today morning. She had a mild fever since four days so thought it was best to get tested. She is doing fine otherwise and should recover soon,” a source close to the player told PTI.
“She was getting tested regularly during the South Africa series so she must have caught the virus after that only,” the source added.
Kaur was absent from India women’s three-match T20I series against South Africa women - which took place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow between 20-23 March - after injuring herself in the fifth ODI on March 17. India women lost both ODI as well as the T20I series.
