Team Chennai managed to calm down their nerves as they defeated Team Delhi by four wickets in Qualifier 1 of Indian T20 League 2021 at the Dubai International Stadium.

Put to bat first, Delhi managed a score of 172/5 in the allotted 20 overs thanks to Prithvi Shaw's 34-ball 60 and skipper Rishabh Pant (unbeaten 51 off 35 balls) rescuing his team from 80/4 after 10.2 overs with an 83-run partnership with Shimron Hetmyer (37 runs off 24 balls).

Chennai, on their part, relied upon the seasoned Robin Uthappa (63 runs off 44 balls) to set the tone for the 173-run chase. Confidently supported by Ruturaj Gaikwad (70 runs off 50 balls ) - the third Chennai player to register 600 runs in a single Indian T20 League campaign - the Yellow Brigade ended their run of four straight defeats to Delhi to book their place in the Indian T20 League final for the first time since 2019.

Delhi will now face the winner of the Eliminator clash between Bangalore and Kolkata to earn a spot in the final.

Chennai qualify for the final in true MSD style!
