A day after Kolkata all-rounder Sunil Narine was reported for suspect bowling action against Punjab in Abu Dhabi, the two-time Indian T20 League winners have delivered a statement, saying that they are fully committed to 'the process that the Indian T20 League has put in place' for the complaint.

The West Indies all-rounder was reported after playing a huge role in Kolkata's narrow two-run win over Punjab on Saturday. He conceded just 28 runs for two wickets in his overs, dismissing the likes of Nicholas Pooran and Mandeep Singh. He, in fact, defended 14 runs in the final over as Punjab slumped to a disappointing defeat.

Despite the win though, Kolkata were hit by the news that their all-rounder was reported for bowling with a suspected illegal bowling action. A statement from the Indian T20 League confirmed that Narine has been warned although he is permitted to bowl, another report will result in him being suspended from bowling in the competition.

Reacting to the report, Kolkata recently released a statement, saying the Caribbean all-rounder has already played six games this season there have been 'no concerns expressed formally or informally by the match officials so far.'

"This came as a surprise to the franchise and Mr. Narine, considering he has played over 115 games in the league since 2012 and as many as 68 games since 2015, when he was last reported for a suspect action before being subsequently cleared completely by SRASSC, an ICC accredited facility," read an official statement from the team.

"Having said this, we are respectful of the process that the competition has put in place to have his action reviewed, and are working closely with the Indian T20 League in this matter. We are hopeful that there would be an appropriate resolution quickly. We appreciate the cooperation being extended by the Indian T20 League in expediting this matter."
