Team Kolkata have signed Punjab batsman Gurkeerat Singh Mann as a replacement for Rinku Singh, who has been ruled out of Indian T20 League 2021 due to a knee injury.

The Eoin Morgan-led side has acquired Gurkeerat at his base price of ₹50 lakh.

"Kolkata have signed up Gurkeerat Singh Mann as a replacement for batsman Rinku Singh, who will be unavailable for the entire season due to a knee injury," stated an Indian T20 League media release.

"Rinku, who made his IPL debut in 2017 has played a total of 11 IPL games. His replacement, Gurkeerat, last played for Bangalore in IPL 2020 before being released ahead of the IPL 2021 auction," it added.

Gurkeerat last played for the Virat Kohli-led Bangalore side in the past two seasons - 2019 and 2020. In 2019, the 30-year-old had featured in just three matches scoring 98 runs, including the highest score of 65.
