The Indian cricket team will face Scotland in their Super 12 Group 2 match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday, November 5.
Virat Kohli's Men in Blue must win their remaining matches to maintain their chances of qualifying for the semi-finals after heartbreaking losses to Pakistan (10 wickets) and New Zealand (8 wickets) left them in troubled waters.
However, India did register their first win of the tournament against Afghanistan on Wednesday, but their chances of making it to the final four is still dependent on how New Zealand fare.
The Kiwis, who defeated Scotland on the same day, face Namibia and Afghanistan in their remaining Group 2 matches and only a defeat in one of those fixtures will give India an outside chance of making it to the semis if the 2007 champions win all their remaining games.
The Scotland cricket team, who qualified for the Super 12s with a 100 per cent record in the initial group stage round, have lost all three of their Super 12 Group 2 matches and sit rock-bottom of the table with a net run rate of -2.645.
When it comes to the India vs Scotland head-to-head record, this will be their first official meeting between the countries in the 20-over format after their previously scheduled match-up in the 2007 T20 World Cup was washed out due to rain.
