After the Indian cricket team managed to level the five-match T20I series 2-2 from the throes of a defeat on Thursday, the fifth and the final T20I match at the Narendra Modi Stadium on March 20, Saturday, has consequently become the decider.

The repeated failures of opener KL Rahul, whose 14-run knock failed to give a strong start to India yet again on Thursday, after scores of 1, 0, 0 in the first three matches, could see the return of Ishan Kishan along with Suryakumar Yadav in the playing XI on Saturday.

Making his T20I debut against England on Thursday, Suryakumar Yadav played a blistering knock of 57 runs in just 31 balls – which had six boundaries and three sixes – before a controversial soft signal dismissal ended his dream debut.

His strong start was followed by Shreyas Iyer’s late pyrotechnics that helped India post a competitive target of 186 runs after being asked to bat first. In response, England had the game under control till the 16th over before some incredible bowling in the death overs by Shardul Thakur dragged the outcome in India’s favour.

While an injured Ishan Kishan had paved way for Suryakumar Yadav in the fourth T20I, the southpaw is expected to be fit for the series decider on Thursday, leaving the selectors with a tough decision to make.

England cricket team captain Eoin Morgan will be ruing the missed chance to clinch the T20I series, especially with the side needing 46 runs off 24 balls at one point with Morgan and Ben Stokes at the crease.

After a 3-1 loss in the Test-series, which also eliminated England from the World Test Championship Final, the visitors would want to get even in the shortest format.
