Star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja took to social media to flaunt Team India’s new retro jersey for the World Test Championship final against New Zealand, which begins on June 18 in Southampton, England.

The sweater has a ‘V’ neck collar and dons India’s iconic blue-white stripes from the 1990s.

“Rewind to 90’s,” wrote Ravindra Jadeja on his social media handles.

It is the second time in eight months that India decided to launch a retro kit. In November last year, during India’s tour of Australia, India brought the colours of the 1992 World Cup back to life for their limited over matches.

Team India’s new jersey for the WTC final has the word INDIA emblazoned across with logos of BCCI and the ‘ICC WTC Final 2021’ on either side of the chest region.

India and New Zealand emerged as the top two teams in the inaugural edition of the ICC World Test Championship. The two teams will clash for the title. Australia were third in the WTC table.

Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team is currently serving an eight-day quarantine period in Mumbai and is expected to leave for the UK on June 2. Before that though, all the players as well as the non-playing staff will have to return three negative RT-PCR results.

Upon arriving in England, the team will serve another 10 days in isolation. New Zealand are already playing their intra-squad practice match in England.

As for Jadeja, the WTC final is going to be his first Test after suffering an injury during the third Test against Australia in January.

The all-rounder made a successful return to the 2021 Indian T20 League. He has been picked in the squad for the WTC final as well as in the five-match Test series against England.
