Organised by ICC East Asia-Pacific (EAP), the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup EAP Qualifier 2023 is all set to begin on Monday, June 12 in Australia.

Seven teams are participating in this tournament and only one of them will qualify for the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2024 in Sri Lanka next year.

The seven teams participating in this tournament are Fiji, Indonesia, Japan, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, and Vanuatu.

These sides will battle for the remaining spot reserved from the Asian region for the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2024.

The other three remaining qualification spots that are up for grabs are from the Africa, Europe, and Americas regions.

The 12 teams that are already a part of the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2024 are Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, Ireland, Nepal, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, and Zimbabwe.

Coming back to the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup EAP Qualifier 2023, all seven participating nations will square off once against each other and the team that tops the standings at the end of all these encounters will book their berth in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2024.

A total of 21 matches will take place in this tournament across five venues in Darwin, Australia. These five venues are DXC Arena 2, Cazaly’s Arena, DXC Arena 1, Gardens Oval, and the TIO Stadium.

This tournament will run for 10 days, culminating on Wednesday, June 21 and it will witness a combination of both day as well as day and night matches.

There will be no live telecast of the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup EAP Qualifier 2023 on any TV channel in India.
