MS Dhoni’s highest score in T20 is an unbeaten 84 off 48 balls for Chennai which came in a losing against Bangalore in the Indian T20 League.

Former India cricket team captain MS Dhoni has undoubtedly been one of the greatest players in the T20 format.

Having made his T20 debut against South Africa in 2006, Dhoni went on to score 1,617 runs in 98 T20 internationals at an average of 37.6 and a strike rate of 126.13.

Apart from his explosive batting in the shortest format, the Ranchi-born cricketer is considered to be one of the greatest captains in T20 format.

Under his captaincy, India won the inaugural edition of the ICC T20 World Cup held in South Africa in 2007. Having forged a reputation for finishing games in style with match-winning sixes, Dhoni was also named as captain and wicket-keeper of the 'Team of the Tournament' in the 2014 T20 World Cup by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Besides his impressive numbers and records in the T20I format, Dhoni has had a stellar career in the high-profile Indian T20 League too.

After Team Chennai bought him for $1.5 million in the 2008 Indian T20 League auction to make him the most expensive player in the inaugural edition of the league, Dhoni repaid the faith shown in him by making Team Chennai one of the most successful T20 franchises in the history of the sport.

Under his captaincy, Chennai won the Indian T20 League titles in 2010, 2011, 2018 and 2021. Dhoni also guided the Team in Yellow to the 2010 and 2014 editions of Champions League T20 crowns.

Having played 14 editions of the Indian T20 League since 2008, the Indian legend has aggregated 4,746 runs in 220 matches at an average of 39.55 and a strike rate of 135.83.

Dhoni has also played for the now-defunct Team Pune in the Indian T20 League in 2016 and 2017. He has represented Jharkhand in domestic T20 cricket as well.

In his overall T20 career so far, the right-handed batter has amassed 6,935 runs in 347 matches at a strike rate of 134.37 and an average of 38.31. While Dhoni has registered 27 fifties during his 20-over career, he is yet to score a century.
