India women's cricket team fast bowler Jhulan Goswami tops the charts for taking the most wickets in the Women’s World Cup.

Fondly known as ‘Babul’, Jhulan has picked 43 wickets in 34 Women's World Cup matches with best bowling figures of 4/16 in the tournament. Jhulan has represented India in five World Cups, captaining the team in 2009.

One of the fastest bowlers in women’s cricket, Jhulan is the leading wicket-taker in WODIs with 252 scalps and is the only active player among the top five bowlers with most Women’s World Cup wickets.

Australian bowler Lyn Fullston features second on the list for taking the most wickets in the Women’s World Cup. The left-arm orthodox spinner dominated the Women’s World Cup with the ball, claiming 39 wickets in just 20 games.

Known as ‘Lefty’ by those close to her, she pocketed 73 wickets in 41 ODIs. Fullston became the first woman cricketer to claim two five-fors in the World Cup, with her best performance being a 5/27.

Next on the list of bowlers with the most wickets in the Women's World Cup is Carole Hodges of England. The all-rounder accounted for 37 wickets in 24 games and has three four-wicket hauls to her name in the tournament.

Hodges, who has best bowling figures of 4/3 and took the first-ever WODI hat-trick, has held the record since 1993 and wasn’t bad with willow in hand either having opened the batting on several occasions for her team.

Making up the top four bowlers for most wickets at the Women’s World Cup is another Englishwoman in Clare Taylor. She represented her country in 26 matches in the tournament and claimed 36 wickets in those games.

Part of the 1993 World Cup winning team, Taylor’s best performance in the tournament is 4/13.

South Africa's Shabnim Ismail completes the top five list for bowlers with most wickets at the Women’s World Cup. She took 36 wickets in 25 matches in the Women’s World Cup with best bowling figures of 4/41.
