Hong Kong cricket team holds the record for the lowest total in Asia Cup history.

Chasing a target of 194 against Pakistan during an Asia Cup 2022 Group A encounter at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Hong Kong were bundled out for 38.

Leg-spinner Shadab Khan was the wrecker-in-chief for Pakistan as he picked four wickets for just eight runs in his quota of four overs. Left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz bagged three wickets while fast bowler Naseem Shah claimed two wickets. Shahnawaz Dahani also took one wicket.

The United Arab Emirates cricket team (UAE) is second on the list for lowest total in Asia Cup history for T20I matches.

During a 2016 Asia Cup encounter against India, UAE were restricted to 81/9 in 20 overs, with Shaiman Anwar (43 runs) being their top run-getter. India’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar finished as the top wicket-taker in the game as he grabbed two wickets for eight runs.

India went on to win the match by nine wickets as they chased a target of 82 in 10.1 overs.

UAE’s lowest T20I team score in the Asia Cup came six days after they were bowled out for 82 by Bangladesh.

The Bangladesh quartet of Mustafizur Rahman, Mashrafe Mortaza, Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah grabbed two wickets each to guide the hosts to a 51-run victory having posted 133 runs on the scoreboard in the first innings.

Pakistan (83 all out vs India, 2016), Oman (101/8 vs UAE, 2016) and Hong Kong (112 all out vs Afghanistan, 2016) complete the top five lowest totals in Asia Cup for T20I matches.

Bangladesh’s 87 all out against Pakistan is the lowest total in Asia Cup history for ODI matches.

Set a target of 321 to chase in an Asia Cup 2000 meeting, the Bangla Tigers managed to bat for 34.2 overs. Abdul Razzaq was in top form and tormented the Bangladesh batting order with his spell of 3/5 to inspire Pakistan to a 233-run victory.

This wouldn’t be the first time Pakistan bowled out Bangladesh for the lowest total.

The Bangladesh versus Pakistan game in the 1986 Asia Cup saw Wasim Akram’s 4/19 help skittle out the Bangla Tigers for 94.

Sri Lanka (96 all out vs India, 1984), Bangladesh (99/8 vs India, 1988), and Hong Kong (105 all out vs Bangladesh, 2004) complete the top five lowest totals in Asia Cup for ODI matches.

India’s 169 against Pakistan in 1995 is their lowest ODI total at the Asia Cup.
