The Indian cricket team travels to London to take on England in the second Test at the iconic Lord’s on Thursday, August 12. Both teams were rewarded four points in the first game of the second cycle of the World Test Championship (WTC) following a draw in the Nottingham Test.

Virat Kohli’s India, who were playing their first Test match on English soil after three years, needed 157 runs to win just their fifth Test in England since 2002 but the weather gods had different plans for the visitors with the final day being washed out entirely. India now arrive at the iconic Lord’s where they have beaten England just twice in 18 Tests.

India are likely to continue with the same bowling unit in the second Test as skipper Kohli revealed to Mike Atherton in the post-match interview that the bowling attack will most likely be the same going ahead in the series.

Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav, who have come in as replacements for injured players Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar and Avesh Khan, will join the Indian team in London once their quarantine period is over.

England, meanwhile, could recall Moeen Ali and Haseeb Hameed for the second Test at Lord’s. The hosts will rework their batting options after captain Joe Root single-handedly drove the batting with his 21st Test century in the last Test. Ollie Pope, who missed the first Test with a thigh strain, is in contention for a start in the second.
