An in-form Bangladesh side will host Ireland for a one-off Test match at Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka from April 4. The match will start at 9:30 AM IST and will be available on live streaming in India.
Ireland won just one T20 on tour so far. They lost the One-Day International (ODI) series 0-2 before losing the T20 International (T20I) series 1-2.
This will be the first time Bangladesh will face Ireland in a Test match. In fact, Ireland has only played three Test matches in their history and is yet to register their first win. They played Pakistan in 2018 and competed against Afghanistan as well as England in the following year.
Bangladesh too will be playing its first Test match of the year. They hosted India in a two-match Test series in December and lost both matches.
Shakib Al Hasan will likely captain Bangladesh against Ireland while Andrew Balbirnie will lead Ireland for the only Test on the tour.
