Days after dethroning Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli from the top of the ICC ODI Rankings, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam, on Sunday, April 25, became the fastest player to score 2,000 T20I runs.

The 26-year-old took just 54 matches (52 innings) to reach the landmark, thereby overtaking Kohli, who had reached the milestone in his 60th T20I (56th innings). Australia captain Aaron Finch sits third in the list after crossing the 2000-run mark in his 62nd match.

Babar, who is leading Pakistan in Zimbabwe at the moment, needed just 17 runs in the 3rd T20I to reach the 2000 runs mark. He went on to score a 46-ball 52.
