Day two of the third Ashes Test has gone from bad to worse for England. After being bowled out for 67 by Australia, their marksman Jofra Archer limped off the field due to a hamstring injury.

While the seriousness of the injury is yet to be known, it is expected that it may just be a cramp as the player himself didn’t seem worried about it. The 24-year-old suffered the injury during one of his overs. After bowling his fourth delivery, the Barbados-born pacer stopped soon after the follow-through and held his right hamstring.

After a bit of stretching, the physios came running through and Archer made his way out of the field, while all-rounder Ben Stokes completed the over.

Archer, on the opening day of the third Test, delivered a scintillating performance by picking six wickets for 45 runs. A batting collapse, however, didn’t live the billing as England could only post a mere total of 67 in return, with Josh Hazelwood picking five for 30.

And with England back in the field within a day, the risk of injury, especially to all the frontline bowlers, was always extreme. With James Anderson already out of the game, England will be hoping there is nothing serious as far as Archer’s knock is concerned.
