Indian Super League 2022-23 has witnessed some pulsating football across the country and now, it is heading closer to its business end. Mumbai City FC became the first team to qualify for the playoffs in the 2022-23 edition and maintained a record-breaking winning streak in the process.

Mumbai City FC dropped points in just three matches and are yet to lose a match in the ISL 2022-23. They have scored the most goals in the tournament so far and also have one of the best defensive records.

After beginning their campaign with a pulsating 3-3 draw against fellow title-contenders Hyderabad FC, they went on to score four goals or more in matches against Chennaiyin FC, Bengaluru FC, FC Goa, Odisha FC and Kerala Blasters - stamping their authority as the favourites to lift the title for a second time.

Defending champions Hyderabad FC became the second team to qualify for the playoffs this season. Manolo Marquez’s side defeated Kerala Blasters in the ISL 2021-22 final, but missed out on ISL Shield to Jamshedpur FC having finished second at the end of the league stage last season.

It seems like they are heading in the same direction again in 2022-23, with Mumbai City establishing a healthy lead at the top of the table. They also have the best defensive record in the league so far.

As per the new ISL playoffs format, the top two teams have already made it to the semi-finals, while the remaining four spots in the top six are up for grabs. At the end of the league stage, the team that's third will clash with the side that is in sixth position, while the fourth-placed team will face the fifth in single-leg playoffs to determine the other two semi-finalists.

Kerala Blasters, who have reached the final of the ISL multiple times, sealed yet another playoff appearance this season. ATK Mohun Bagan and Bengaluru FC also reached the playoffs.

eISL Season 2 starts February 28, final in Delhi in May - get full schedule and watch live streaming

The eISL makes its comeback with the second season starting on February 28, 2023. The season kicks off with title-holders Chennaiyin FC taking on Mumbai City FC in a blockbuster contest. It is one of the six matches scheduled for the opening week of the esports tournament.

The league stage of the eISL Season 2 will be played online, while the playoffs, played similar to the Indian Super League playoffs format, will be a LAN event in Delhi on May 6 and 7.

All matches will be played on EA Sports’ FIFA 23 game. The eISL champions will qualify for the EA Sports FIFA 23 Global Series (FGS) play-in tournament.

Season 2 of the tournament will consist of 62 matches, including 55 league-stage games and seven playoff encounters.

Mumbai City FC have announced a new lineup of players for the upcoming season with Aditya Chadha and Saksham Rattan. Karman Tikka, a former Islander, will don the colours of Chennaiyin FC going forward.

Charanjot Singh and Saransh Jain, who represented India at the FIFA Global Series last year, will don Bengaluru FC and NorthEast United FC colours, respectively. Ex-Machan Saransh Jain lifted the eISL trophy with Chennaiyin FC in Season 1.

Meanwhile, Arvind S will play for Jamshedpur FC and Shayantan Mondal is set to feature for East Bengal FC in eISL Season 2.

The eISL Season 2 league stage ends on April 26, 2023, after East Bengal FC’s match against Bengaluru FC.

Napoli’s fixture list for Serie A 2022-23 season

S.S.C. Napoli began their Serie A 2022-23 campaign in style on August 15, 2022, beating Hellas Verona 5-2. Forwards Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opened their goal-scoring accounts in the opening game of the season, showcasing their intent for the Serie A Golden Boot early on.

In the remainder of August, Napoli took five points from fixtures against Monza, Fiorentina and Leece. The Luciano Spalletti-managed club grabbed a couple of big victories in September, defeating Lazio and the Serie A defending champions AC Milan away from home.

The Napoli winning-streak in Serie A 2022-23, which started in early September, continued until the mid-season break for the FIFA World Cup 2022. The Naples-based club celebrated 11 wins on the bounce in this period, while beating Roma, Atalanta and Torino in October-November 2022 to strengthen their title bid for this season.

Following a goalless first half, the home team broke the deadlock in the 56th minute with half-time substitutes Manisha Kalyan and Soumya Guguloth combining for the goal. Guguloth put the ball in the back of the net from a tight angle after a superb cross by her teammate from the left flank.

UEFA Champions League 2022-23 Round of 16 kicks off on February 15 - watch live in India

The UEFA Champions League 2022-23 Round of 16 will get underway with AC Milan and PSG hosting Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich, respectively, on February 15, 2023. The knockout stage will go on till March 16, 2023.

While the first leg of the ties is scheduled to be played in February, the return legs will be held in March ahead of the international break.

Following an exhilarating group phase, Napoli, Liverpool, FC Porto, Club Brugge, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Tottenham Hotspur, Eintracht Frankfurt, Chelsea, AC Milan, Real Madrid, RB Leipzig, Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund, Benfica and PSG made it to the knockouts.

The UCL 2022-23 Round of 16 draw took place on November 7, 2022, four days after the final match-day of the group stage.

Real Madrid, the 14-time UEFA Champions League winners, will go up against Liverpool in the repeat of the previous edition’s final.

Chelsea, who have signed multiple players, including Enzo Fernandez who became Premier League’s most expensive transfer, will lock horns with German side Borussia Dortmund in the UCL Round of 16 fixture.

Meanwhile, Manchester City, who have been rocked by the latest allegations surrounding the Financial Fair Play breaches, will square off versus RB Leipzig in their quest to win their maiden UCL trophy.

PSG vs Bayern Munich is yet another highlight clash of the round. The two teams faced off in the 2020-21 quarter-final as well where the French powerhouse progressed to the semis on away goals after a 3-3 aggregate scoreline over two legs.

Unfortunately, FC Barcelona, Ajax and Juventus are the three major teams who failed to advance beyond the group stage. They will now ply their trade in the UEFA Europa League 2022-23.
