India at Tokyo 2020 Olympics Day 10: As it happened
The Indian contingent's Day 10 at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics was a mixed bag, but one where positive lessons were learnt.
The Indian women's hockey team beat two-time world and Olympic champions Australia to move into the semi-finals. The Indian eves now join the men's team who also reach the semi-finals at the Summer Games in Japan.
Dutee Chand (athletics - 200m), shooters Sanjeev Rajput, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar (men's 50m three positions) made early exits in their respective events after falling short of qualification for the finals.
The last part of the day saw Kamalpreet Kaur (women's discus throw) and Fouzaad Mirza (equestrian) take part in the finals of their medal events, and they put up commendable performances despite failing to register podium finishes.
