Diego Maradona: Fans in disbelief as Argentine legend dies aged 60
Argentine football legend, Diego Maradona, on Wednesday, passed away at the age of 60 due to a cardiorespiratory arrest. Maradona had brain surgery earlier this month to remove a blood clot from his brain and his doctor had then said that the former footballer was in recovery.
Maradona was admitted to the hospital in early November after feeling unwell for several days. Before being admitted to the hospital the football legend was seen in pain as he needed help for even walking, and while he was admitted for anaemia, dehydration and depression, an MRI scan revealed a subdural hematoma. The surgery took place soon after, and his doctor had said he 'tolerated the procedure very well'.
Maradona celebrated his 60th birthday on October 30 and joined his Gimnasia squad briefly at the club's training ground, but was helped by his assistants after staying only 30 minutes.
Football has lost one of its greatest players of all time and the fans are is absolute disbelief.
