The first ODI between South Africa and England has been called off after a player from the home camp tested positive for the global virus. The Independent quotes that the game has been moved to Sunday instead, while the second ODI will be played on Monday followed by the final ODI on Wednesday.

It is said that the positive result has come from the home side in Cape Town, and the game has been called off as a precautionary measure to stop the spread of the disease. South Africa have been under the scanner of late after as many as three cricketers were tested positive for the virus last month before the series even kicked off.

Cricket South Africa had then said that 50 tests were carried out on players and support staff and one unnamed player returned positive. The other two were put into isolation as they were considered close contacts. Although asymptomatic, the players were closely monitored ahead of the series.
