The New Zealand women’s cricket team and Australia - the top-ranked ODI team in the world - will reconvene for the first of three ODI games at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on Sunday, April 4.

The Rose Bowl series, which began in February 1985, has the Aussie eves start as the favourites. The Australian women’s cricket team have won 22 of the 29 series played, and have triumphed in 17 of the last 18 series.

Amy Satterthwaite, New Zealand's stand-in captain in place of Sophie Devine, has welcomed the return of fast bowler Lea Tahuhu to spoil the party for Australia in the Rose Bowl one-day series. The White Ferns, however, will be without all-rounder Frankie Mackay who will not play due to a calf injury sustained during her innings in the Napier T20I.

Australia, on the other hand, are on a 21-game winning streak in the 50-overs game and victory on Sunday would see them secure a world record 22 wins in a row, bettering the record they share with Ricky Ponting’s 2003 Australia men’s team.

Captain Meg Lanning will depend on Ellyse Perry to play a decisive role in the ODI series as the all-rounder continues her comeback from a hamstring injury she suffered last year.

Australia women have not lost an ODI series to New Zealand since 1999 and will be eager to maintain the record in the upcoming series. Watch New Zealand Women vs Australia Women ODIs live!
