Kevin O'Brien shatters his own car's window with a six
Known for whacking big shots all over the cricket ground, one of Ireland batsman Kevin O'Brien's latest shots will have him wishing he'd toned it down just a little bit. Batting for Leinster Lightning during a domestic T20 match in Dublin, one of his sixes went flying right out of the stadium and crashing through the rear window of his car parked at Pembroke Cricket Club.
The scenes of the damage were soon put up on social media by Cricket Ireland's official Twitter handle for the world to see:
Seeing that, Cricket Australia immediately pounced on the opportunity for a cheeky jab:
Finally, it was the 36-year-old in question himself who took to Twitter and corrected the BBC about which window it was that the took the brunt of his heavy hit:
Helping O'Brien get over the damage to his vehicle was the eventual victory for his side against the North-West Warriors. The match was reduced to 12 overs a side due to intermittent rain, and after being tasked to open the innings for his side, he went on to belt out a stout knock of 82 off 37, peppered with eight sixes and three boundaries, helping Leinster toward a tally of 124/4.
The North-West Warriors got off to an unideal start after opener Nathan McGuire fell for a duck and the side eventually petered out at 104/8.
