Indian T20 League 2020: Amit Mishra ruled out of the tournament
Delhi spinner Amit Mishra has been ruled out of the ongoing 13th edition of the Indian T20 League due to a tendon injury he picked while bowling during against Kolkata in Sharjah last week.
Mishra, who has picked three wickets so far in as many games at an economy of 7.20, hurt his fingers in the first over while attempting a catch against Nitish Rana. He did complete his over, where he conceded a mere two runs, and came on for second to dismiss Shubman Gill. Four deliveries on, and the physio was called into action to have a look at his injury. The veteran spinner went into the dugout and didn't return.
A Delhi representative confirmed that new to ANI, saying that the team will need to look for a replacement.
“The reports have come in and it is bad news. He will be unavailable for the rest of the season and we will need to look at a replacement. But the worst part is that he was looking in great rhythm and was bowling really well. His experience was something that was not just helping him in the middle on these UAE wickets, but also the young spinners in the team,” the official said.
Mishra's injury means Axar Patel will line alongside Ravichandran Ashwin during Delhi's game against Bangalore on Monday, October 5.
