BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has confirmed that the first of India's four-match Test series will be a day-night Test and will be played on Adelaide. It is said that India's tour of Australia will begin in November with three T20Is and as many ODIs followed by four Tests.

While Ganguly confirmed that tour, he did mention that the dates are yet to be finalized. “Cricket Australia has sent us an itinerary. We will play three T20Is, three ODIs and four Tests there. The first Test will be a day-night game in Adelaide. The dates haven’t been finalised yet,” Ganguly told The Sunday Express after the BCCI’s Apex Council meeting on Saturday.

“The tour will commence with a white-ball component before the four-Test series, at this stage, begins in Adelaide on December 17-21. Other venues include Melbourne (December 26-30), Sydney (January 7-11) and Brisbane (January 15-19),” the report said.

The meeting also discussed the future of Ranji Trophy amidst the pandemic situation, with Ganguly saying that the board is hopeful of resuming the competition from early January. “It might not be possible to hold all the tournaments for practical reasons. But we hope to have a full-fledged Ranji Trophy from early January and at least one limited-overs tournament,” Ganguly said.

Meanwhile, it is said that the BCCI is still hopeful of hosting England for a Test series sometime next year. But Ganguly said that nothing concrete has been laid yet. “It’s still four months away. We will take a call in due course”.
