While the world economy continues to remain in a standstill amid the global pandemic, the world of fantasy gaming is booming and is expected to reach a new milestone during the 2020 Indian T20 League season.

Industry experts are expecting fans of the Indian T20 League to spend well over $1 billion with many even suggesting that the number will be closer to $1.5 billion. The increasing number of fantasy gaming platforms has given players a plethora of options to choose from, each varying in reward but based on the simple principle of predicting a player’s performance.

The dearth of leisure activities like sports and movies during the global pandemic has provided a huge boost to the fantasy gaming industry with a large majority playing for the first time during this year’s Indian T20 League season.

The aggressive marketing of fantasy platforms is one of the prime reasons for the industry’s expected market cap. Companies have roped in the biggest names in the sport, including Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Saurav Ganguly, Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar all endorsing fantasy platforms.

All fantasy platforms are expecting to have their biggest year in terms of users and revenue in 2020. One platform has claimed that they are expecting a 100% increase in the number of users for the 2020 Indian T20 League season in comparison to last year.

With Indian T20 League being the only mainstream cricketing action available to fans across the planet, the fantasy industry is expected to receive a huge boost in the number of users over the next two months from not only India but from across the globe.

The financial muscle of the fantasy gaming industry already came to the fore ahead of this year’s Indian T20 League season when Dream11 replaced Vivo to be the title sponsors of the league after the Chinese cellular giants announced their decision to cut ties with the cash-rich league.

The financial implications of the pandemic are uncertain but the fantasy gaming market is one of the few industries that is trending upwards during this period.

If you are one of them too, we've something exciting in store!
