India women look to draw level against England in the second ODI - watch live in India
India women’s cricket team face England in the second ODI of the three-match ODI series at Taunton on Wednesday with the aim of levelling the series and putting on a spirited performance.
India were completely outplayed in all departments in the first ODI at Bristol and succumbed to an eight-wicket loss. England chased down the 202-run target with eight wickets and more than 15 overs to spare.
The Indian eves never really got going after being asked to bat first and could manage only 201 runs from their stipulated 50 overs. Slow batting from skipper Mithali Raj and Punam Raut coupled with Harmanpreet Kaur’s lack of form made the team pay a heavy price eventually. While Raj made a 108-ball 72, Raut scored a 61-ball 32.
India played out as many as 181 dot balls during the course of their innings which amounts to more than 30 overs. England chased down the score comfortably with unbeaten half-centuries from Tammy Beaumont and Natalie Sciver.
