England begin their limited-overs T20Is and ODIs series at home versus a visiting Sri Lanka cricket team starting June 23. Their first fixture will be at Cardiff and the home side will head into the series on the back of a 0-1 Test series loss to New Zealand.

The hosts are placed at the top of the T20I rankings and although they suffered a 2-3 loss against India earlier this year, they will start as favourites against the eighth-placed Lankans, who lost a T20I series to West Indies in March

Jonny Bairstow is uncertain to play the first T20I after suffering an ankle sprain during the ongoing domestic T20 Blast tournament. He has undergone scans and has been cleared of any serious injury as per medical reports.

Kusal Perera has been named the Sri Lanka captain for both the ODI and T20I series with Kusal Mendis acting as the vice-captain.

Moeen Ali has been named Eoin Morgan’s deputy for the ODI series.
