England named a 14-man squad for their upcoming three-match T20I series against Pakistan on Tuesday. The selectors left out players from the ongoing Test series between both teams and haven’t picked any uncapped players in the squad either.

Eoin Morgan will be the captain of the English team for all three of the matches which will be played at Old Trafford, Manchester, three days following the conclusion of the third and final Test between the teams in Southampton.

"In this crowded international summer, players who are currently in the Test match bio-secure bubble for the Pakistan Test series are not included in this squad," national selector Ed Smith said in a statement. “We want to give multi-format players some opportunity to rest and refresh, while still selecting strong squads for every series.”

The squad features the likes of Saqib Mahmood, Joe Denly, Tom Banton and Lewis Gregory, who have featured in just a handful of T20I matches. However, the English also have experienced players like Adil Rashid, Jason Roy, David Willey, Jonny Bairstow, Moeen Ali and Chris Jordan in the team.

The England and Wales Cricket Board also confirmed that assistant coach Graham Thorpe will be their head coach for the T20 series, while Paul Collingwood, who was head coach of England’s one-day international squad for the Ireland series, will be the assistant coach and former opener Marcus Trescothick will be the batting coach.

England are currently 1-0 up in the Test series after the rain-hit second Test between them and Pakistan ended in a draw. The third Test is set to begin on Friday and all three T20Is will follow between 28 August and 1 September. Pat Brown, Liam Livingstone and Reece Topley have also been named as reserves for England.

England squad: Eoin Morgan (captain), Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow, Tom Banton, Sam Billings, Tom Curran, Joe Denly, Lewis Gregory, Chris Jordan, Saqib Mahmood, Dawid Malan, Adil Rashid, Jason Roy and David Willey.
