Vinohrady CC will look to end Prague CC Kings’ dominance in Czech cricket - get predictions
Defending champions Prague CC Kings have entered the ECS T10 Prague 2021 tournament as the clear favourites. Led by Sudesh Wickramasekara, Prague CC Kings had thrashed Vinohrady CC by eight wickets in the ECS Prague final in October last year.
Chasing 102 in the ECS T10 2020 final, the Kings rode on captain Sudesh Wickramasekara’s 33 off 16 balls and Sharan Ramakrishnan’s 18-ball 29 to chase down the target in 8.3 overs.
Furthermore, Prague CC Kings are the most successful club in Czech cricketing history, having won the T20 league Division 1, three years in succession from 2018-2020.
In the ongoing edition of ECS T10 Prague, the defending champions have already made a superb start, winning both their opening matches. Prague CC Kings have defeated Bohemian CC by seven wickets and later followed it up by hammering Prague Spartans Mobilizers by 84 runs.
The other title contenders for ECS T10 Prague 2021 are Vinohrady CC and Bohemian CC. The last year’s finalists Vinohrady CC have a winning mentality, winning the Czech T20 league in 2011, 2016 and 2017 and also claimed the Pro40 honours in 2017.
On the other hand, Bohemian CC won the ECN Czech Super Series last summer and are never to be underestimated under the leadership of Javed Iqbal with Czech national player Abul Fahrad spearheading the attack.
Top Tip: Best Batsmen
Vinohrady CC batsman Ritik Tomar had ended ECS T10 Prague 2020 as the leading run-scorer, with 220 runs in six matches. He had averaged 110 and had a strike rate of 200. Tomar had smashed two fifties in the last edition of the tournament.
On the other hand, Prague CC Kings captain Sudesh Wickramasekara had helped his side clinch the trophy last year. Sudesh Wickramasekara had scored 210 runs in seven matches at a strike rate of 198.11. Wickramasekara had averaged 52.50 including one fifty to his name.
Top Tip: Best Bowlers
Siddharth Goud of Vinohrady CC was the leading wicket-taker in the last edition of the ECS T10 Prague. Goud was the wrecker-in-chief for his side, scalping eight wickets in six matches at an economy of 8.30. He is once again expected to play an important role for last year’s finalists.
Prague CC Kings bowler Sharan Ramakrishnan was equally impressive for the champions last year. Ramakrishnan had picked seven wickets in as many matches with his best bowling figures of 2/12.
