Suyash Prabhudessai: All you need to know about Bangalore’s latest all-rounder in Indian T20 League
Bangalore’s Suyash Prabhudessai hogged the limelight after he made an impressive Indian T20 League debut against defending champions Chennai at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
Chasing a huge total of 217, Bangalore were reeling at 50/4 having lost the wickets of captain Faf du Plessis (8), Virat Kohli (1), Anuj Rawat (12) and Glenn Maxwell (26). Prabhudessai joined all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed at the crease. The duo played some impressive shots as they steadied the ship.
The 24-year-old Prabhudessai from Goa played a blitzkrieg 18-ball 34 runs knock before Chennai off-spinner Maheesh Theekshana cleaned him up.
During his eye-catching knock, Prabhudessai smashed Chennai captain Ravindra Jadeja for a boundary and followed with a six in the 11th over. The highlight of his innings was the slog sweep over short third off Jadeja’s bowling.
Apart from his batting, Prabhudessai inflicted a brilliant run-out to dismiss Chennai swashbuckling batter Moeen Ali while fielding at the backward point. He also made some superb saves on the field to garner praises from the commentators.
