Sachin Tendulkar untouchable for the most runs by an Indian across all formats
Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for most runs by an Indian across all formats, with 34,357 runs in 664 matches.
The Mumbai-born top-order batter, whose record-breaking career spanned over two decades, is the undisputed top-scorer in the ODI and Test formats. Tendulkar, however, played just one T20I match and managed a mere 10 runs.
Current Indian cricket team coach Rahul Dravid is second on our list for most runs by an Indian across all formats. Nicknamed ‘The Wall’, Dravid has hit 24,064 runs in 504 matches with an average of 45.57.
Virat Kohli, often touted as the only player to ever challenge Sachin Tendulkar’s record for most runs by an Indian across all formats, is third with 23,650 runs in 458 matches.
Ganguly, for starters, has scored 18,433 runs across all formats for Team India, and has registered 38 centuries to his name. Additionally, he is one of the few cricketers to have achieved the unique treble of 10,000 runs, 100 wickets and 100 catches in ODI cricket.
MS Dhoni is by far one of India’s most successful captains across all formats. The legendary wicketkeeper-batter amassed 17,092 runs in 535 matches at an average of 44.74. If anything, the highlight of Dhoni’s career was the soaring six that won India the 2011 Cricket World Cup against Sri Lanka.
