Pace ace Jasprit Bumrah tops the list for most maidens in T20I
India’s premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah currently holds the record for bowling most maidens in T20I cricket.
Since making his T20I debut against Australia in 2016, the right-arm fast bowler has registered eight maiden overs in 57 matches. Bumrah has picked 67 wickets at an impressive economy and average of 6.50 and 19.89 respectively.
In his short international career, Bumrah has already established himself as India’s leading fast bowler. The Ahmedabad-born cricketer has gained prominence courtesy his unique bowling action and reputation for delivering toe-crushing yorkers.
Oman cricket team bowler Bilal Khan features second on the list for most maidens in T20I. The left-arm pacer has bowled six maiden overs in 46 T20I matches and has claimed 63 T20I wickets at an economy of 6.41.
Apart from Bilal Khan, former Sri Lanka pacer Nuwan Kulasekara, Bangladesh left-arm fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman, Franco Nsubuga of Uganda and Canada’s Saad Bin Zafar have bowled six maiden overs in T20I cricket.
While Kulasekara bagged 66 wickets in 58 T20I matches, Rahman has already scalped 87 wickets in 63 T20Is. Meanwhile, Nsubuga has picked 19 T20I wickets in 20 matches and Zafar has accumulated 28 wickets in 22 T20Is so far.
The likes of Ghulam Ahmadi of Germany, India’s Harbhajan Singh, Pakistan’s Hasan Ali and former Ireland pacer Trent Johnston complete the top 10 list for most maidens in T20I cricket. Ghulam Ahmadi, Harbhajan Singh, Hasan Ali and Trent Johnston have all bowled five maiden overs in their T20I career.
