Man United nears Mbeumo transfer after £70m offer, as Man City sign Nypan
Manchester United have made a fresh bid for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo, with a £70m deal that includes £65m in set pay and add-ons. The Cameroon forward, who scored 20 goals last season, wants the move. United want to close the deal fast so he can join their U.S. tour next week.
Ruben Amorim, the new head coach, sees Mbeumo as key and wants him in the squad soon. United had an old bid turned down, but the new offer meets Brentford’s price. If the deal works out, Mbeumo will be their third new player, after Matheus Cunha and Diego León.
At the same time, City have signed Sverre Nypan from Rosenborg for £12.5m. The 18-year-old Norwegian midfielder said, ‘There is already a special connection between Norway and Manchester City through Erling Haaland and Oscar Bobb.’
United also want Nicolas Jackson, while Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Tyrell Malacia are set to leave.
