Scotland keep T20 hopes alive with narrow win against Netherlands
Scotland held off a late push by the Netherlands to win by six runs and boost their World Cup hopes on Tuesday, July 8. They posted 148 for 9, led by Oli Hairs with 52, with support from Charlie Tear, who made 32 and Richie Berrington, who added 28. Despite early losses, such as Munsey's dismissal on the third ball, Scotland found key runs.
The Dutch reply reached 142 for 7. Noah Croes stayed unbeaten on 52, and Michael Levitt scored 22. However, Scotland’s bowlers kept control. Chris Greaves led with 3 for 26, McMullen took two early wickets, and Brad Currie bowled Roelof van der Merwe for 20 near the end.
The win gives Doug Watson’s side one win and one draw after their first match against Guernsey was washed out. Scotland now matches Italy, who also have a win and a draw.
