14-year-old breaks record in cricket league debut

A big moment happened in India's prestigious cricket league, wherein 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest player to ever compete in the game. Playing with Rajasthan, they brought him in as an impact substitute. He took the place of bowler Sandeep Sharma.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi is a left-handed batsman who Rajasthan bought during the November auction for $130,500 at the age of 13. This is mainly because he broke the old record set by Prayas Ray Barman, who played his first match in the league at age 16 in 2019.
Commentators gave him the nickname 'Boss Baby', batting alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal as Rajasthan was chasing 181 runs. On his first ball, he hit a six over extra cover, bowled by Shardul Thakur.
While he didn’t stay long at the crease, he played strongly. Suryavanshi hit three sixes and two fours, scoring 34 runs from just 20 balls. He and Jaiswal made 85 runs together for the first wicket. Then, South African player Aiden Markram got him out by stumping.
However, Rajasthan lost by just two runs in a close game. Suryavanshi walked off the field with tears in his eyes. It was a sad moment that resonated with fans.
Even at a young age, Suryavanshi scored 100 runs in just 58 balls in an Under-19 game against Australia. He also made his debut for Bihar in the Ranji Trophy at the age of 12.
